NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC)

During the Independence movement, leaders of our nation had realized the need to create a national level youth organization, to train and groom young boys as responsible citizen and future leader of our great country in all walks of life, including the defence forces. Consequently, a committee under Shri HN Kunzru was set up in 1946 under the directives of the first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, to consider the establishment of a nationwide cadet corps, which was born through the Act of Parliament on July 15, 1948. The first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru presided over the function of raising the first NCC Unit at Delhi on the last Sunday of Nov. 1948. This day is traditionally celebrated as the ‘NCC Day’.

AIMS :

To develop, character, courage, comradeship Discipline, leadership, secular, outlook spirit of adventure and sportsmanship and the Ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country. To create Human Resources of organized trained and motivated youth to provide leadership in all walks of life and always available for the service of the Nation. 

To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up career in the armed forces.
